Hard Gel Nails
What is Hard Gel?
Hard gel is a nail enhancement like acrylic nails except it cures in a UV light. It is NOT gel polish/shellac/soft gel/soak off gel. You can put gel polish over hard gel (and you should because it looks great). You can extend the length of the nail with hard gel, just like acrylic
How is Hard Gelapplied?
After you choose your nail shape and length your technician will begin your Hard Gel Application by cleaning and filing your natural nails. If you wanted length added to your nails, they’ll add artificial tips after that. Hard gel is applied to the nail straight from the pot (no mix ratio required) and each layer is cured under a UV or LED light. After curing, a tacky film of uncured gel, called the inhibition layer, is left and must be removed with nail cleanser. Finally, they add any additional polish, accessories, or nail art that you asked for.
How long Hard Gel last?
Hard Gels vary widely from person to person. If someone uses their hands for work quite a bit that person might learn pretty quickly that standard Gel won’t last too long compared to someone who uses their hands for typing. But how long do they last in a general sense? Experts say you need to return to the salon every three weeks to remove the Hard Gel and have new ones put on, unlike acrylic and BIAB, Hard Gel cannot be infilled.
